Good to Know

Iran travel — your questions answered

Do I need a visa for Iran?+
Most nationalities can enter Iran on a 30-day tourist visa for up to 30 days on a tourist visa. For most other nationalities, a 30-day tourist visa is issued via e-visa or on arrival — we guide you through whichever suits your trip. US, UK and Canadian passport holders should tell us their passport country and we'll advise.
Are there flights to Iran?+
Yes — major carriers connect through hubs like Istanbul, Doha, Dubai and Abu Dhabi to Tehran, Shiraz and Isfahan, with easy one-stop routings from the US, UK, Europe and Australia. We'll recommend the best routing for your dates.
Can US, UK or Canadian citizens visit Iran?+
Yes. US, UK and Canadian passport holders are welcome — you simply travel on a pre-arranged guided tour booked through a licensed Iranian agency like Arian Tour. We arrange your accredited guide, hotels and visa authorisation, so apply with us 6–10 weeks ahead and we make Iran possible. Ask us about current schedules.
How do I pay, and is Iran really cash-only?+
Easy — you pay us in advance in your own currency, and we settle all in-country costs for you. So Iran's cash-only payment system is never your problem.
When is the best time to go?+
October to April is ideal — mild and pleasant across most of Iran. Spring (March–May) and autumn (September–November) are especially lovely for the classic cultural cities. See our general travel FAQ for more.
